You're right! Some of the Easter Eggers have wonderful fluffy cheeks. That's one way I can tell some of them apart.Don't forget the fluffy cheeks! I just love those fluffy cheeks!
Thank you!Hello and welcome.![]()
How am I not going to watch them all day long?? We're getting a Polish, too, just for entertainment. I don't even care if she ever lays an egg, ha ha..as long as she runs around with that fluff on her head. You're right! Some of the Easter Eggers have wonderful fluffy cheeks. They're easy to take care of, yes...but it HURTS getting stung, I tell you. I've been afraid to do my beekeeping duties because I got stung. Once. (Through my jeans) What a baby, I know. I haven't gotten honey yet, as we need to leave what they made for them over the winter, but a huge plus has been that all my vegetables and fruit are so much more 'fruitful'. And it's calming to watch them go in and out of the hive.Welcome!! I've had chickens since around 2009 and I am now considering adding honey bees next year - are they pretty easy to take care of?
It's always fun planning out something new. Enjoy the planning process!!
Glad to hear it! It's kind of a tough decision, which breeds to get. Especially because we're only allowed 6. I know 2 or 3 will be the ameracaunas, 1 will be polish, and I'm torn between the other few. I'll probably just get what looks good at the chicken swap.Hi Jeneane, Greetings from Texas. Ameraucanas (or Easter Eggers) are one of my favorites. They're friendly, smart and curious and fun to watch. Your kids are sure to enjoy them too.
