I have had chickens off and on for over 20 years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have no chooks at the moment.

I would like to get Orpingtons again, as they are docile and pleasant to watch.

I have been a quiet member for several years.

I am a crafter/ wire wrapper/ felter/ spinner/ dog trainer/ gardener.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

You are going to love the Orp Breed!! They are super hardy, they mature later than most breeds so this gives their immune systems and internal organs to fully develop before they start in on the stresses of laying, they are SUPER friendly and most of them do end up being lap sitters. Honestly they are like big puppies all their lives.
