hi, everyone!! i'm soooooo new to the world of chickens...
i just moved to Texas to live near my parents. i have to admit that i always had a thing for chickens since i was little, but now that i'm all grown and don't live in the city no more i can fulfill my wish of having lots of different breeds of chickens!!!
since i came to live with here to Texas, i have acquired 2 delawares, 2 buff orpingtons, 1copper maran, 2 silver laced wyndotte, 1 golden laced wyndotte, 4 ameraucanas, 3 frizzled, 2 bantam cochins, 3 bantam japanese, 3 standard cochins, 16 red production, 13 leghorn, 4 ameracanas, 4 silkies, 3 seramas and 3 peacocks
all this in just 2 months!!!
and still want more breeds!
, some i dont have a rooster yet, but i'll always on the search till i find them... the red productions and the leghorns i want for eggs for my family consumption, the rest just because l love them.
they sure are a lot of work as you all know, but i enjoy very much when i look at them and when i send my kids to pick up the eggs
i still need to learn all about chickens, i do a lot of web browsing that's how i found this site, i will definitely be looking at the forum posts on a regular basis to learn more and more from all of you that already have experience...
and if i ever post a dumb question (because i'm pretty sure i will, due to my ignorance) please excuse me
with all that said... i just have to admit i'm really happy to have found this site...
