Hi, my name is McKenzie. I am currently in the process of hatching duck eggs! I found a mallard egg on the sidewalk next to a shop at my local mall and my daughter insisted we try to save it. There was no nest and I truly believed the egg wouldn’t hatch. Now I have a little mallard I’m trying to get to a rescue and we have 5 Anconas on the way! It’s very addicting. I would have never been able to hatch this little one without the posts I found on here and am truly great full. Poor guys was in the wrong position shrink wrapped. Now he is ball of fluff chasing my kids around. We call him an attack duck because he nibbles my kids hair and clothes. I’m so happy to be on here so I can ask you all my many questions and I sincerely hope you won’t get too annoyed with me!

Thank you so much!!! Here is my little monster!!! Lol The picture of him in the egg still makes me sick. I hated having to open the egg. He pipped into the air cell but didn’t externally pip. When I made a safety hole it was a little big but turned out to be a good thing because he was shrink wrapped. He had internally pipped on day 23 and I guess my hydrometers were messed up because the membrane was super dry so I had to open the egg and use coconut oil and bacitracin. Needless to say it was a hard hatch! But he is doing great now! I only have the one pic of him all fluffed. The rest are videos because he does not hold still unless he is laying in both my hands.
