(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have helped raise meat birds on pasture since I was in 7th grade! In high school when people asked me what I wanted to do with my life I used to say either a conservationist or a chicken farmer!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? (3) What breeds do you have?
Right now I have 6 Silkies and 6 Polish. I just love the funny fuzzy ones! My mom has idk like 40+ hens... Buff Orpingtons, Australorps, and Barred Rocks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I think chickens are both beautiful and fun to watch! I could sit and watch their antics all day long. Especially when I set out a nice juicy watermelon!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My chickens are my hobby! But I do like photography, nature, gardening, and singing! Oh, and snakes!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a mommy to a beautiful three year old girl, a lovey-dovey kitty cat, and a silly bun bun. My bunny shares my home office with me and sleeps by my feet during the day while I work!
