from Ohio. So sorry to hear you lost your friend Red. He was a beauty. It is hard to lose a friend, just remember he will always be there in your heart.
Thanks for the welcome everyone. all I know is life will never be the same. I hear that 9 years old is really old for a Rooster but is it really......From different sources I've read that Roosters like upwards of 16-20 years in captivity
Thanks for the welcome everyone. all I know is life will never be the same. I know ya'll that have a close bond with your rooster understand what one adds to your life. at the risk of sounding like a square a relationship with a Rooster is almost magic. Red really brought alot of joy into our lives ofcourse being a rooster he could also be a royal pain in the XXX when he got cocky lol.

Sorry for your loss. It's always hard when you lose a member of the family. He was certainly a good looking boy. My wife and I lost our Benny recently but he will be remembered.
that blows how long did you have Ben for??? When I found Red that morning it was like getting shot in the chest or something. I've come to realize Roosters or atleast Red tend to crow indoors because thats their way of crying for you to come be with them. I got to where I could even sense the emotion in Reds crow. Ofcourse Red new crowing wasn't allowed in the house, didn't stop him alot of times though it's too quiet around here now
And yeah I know what you mean about remembering I couldn't EVER forget Red Chicken not in a Million years he left a gigantic impression on me and everyone that encountered him just wish I'd had more time with him
