Hi,
My name is Bobby and I just recently started raising backyard chickens.I live in Bay Area,Ca. I have flock of 11 chickens.Ranging from 2 weeks to 12 weeks old.We always had chickens when I was growing up but it's been about 20 years since chickens were part of my family.I recently had daughter (15 months ago) and wanted her to have experience of growing up with and taking care of chickens(maybe some rabbits in near future).Hopefully she will enjoy them as much as I did when I was kid.

Hi Bobby and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. I'm sure that your daughter will grow up loving keeping chickens - its a great way to nurture respect and understanding for animals.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/category/learning-center.11/ and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread#post_3239224

All the best

Welcome @Hyroler to the BYC family. How exciting that you are including us in the education of your daughter. Animals teach children compassion, responsibility, where their food comes from, the circle of life and death. Excellent way to teach her how to be loving to all. So happy you joined us.:yesss:
