Hello everyone, New England homesteader joining the site

I'm looking to start a breeding flock of a dual purpose breed. I have a few breeds in mind and I thought this site would be a great place to narrow down my search. It seems hard to find good breeding stock from all the big hatcheries. Thanks for all the help.

Maybe you can find some breeders who have good stock as a foundation. A lot of hatchery breeds are lacking breed type so the way up to improvement will take much longer.
