Hello everyone, new member here!

I've had a small flock of 5 chickens for over a year now. ( Had 6, but lost one to a predator). Honestly it's been a pretty rough experience, but oddly enough I still find peace in their presence and continue to be thrilled and grateful every time I collect eggs. They are a strange and hilarious bunch of tiny dinosaurs that stare at me strangely. Are they curious how I might taste? Im on guard constantly as one of them likes to peck at my freckled legs when I'm not looking. They poop all over the place without caring how I might feel about it. I labor and sweat under the hot sun all for their health and comfort. They won't talk to me and tell me what ails them, so I suffer stewing about how to make things right. Why do I like these birds, anyway? I guess I'm just a sucker like the rest of you. Anyway, I'm glad to be here to share thoughts and ask for advice when needed. I've had so many questions throughout the year and would often find helpful info from this site of which I am very thankful for. Looking forward to posting more soon!
