I am Hoping in 2017 I will be out of the city. In my excitement I am wanting to get my homestead going by starting off with chickens. I live in Arizona and interested in polish chickens any suggestions ... summers do he up to 120 . Thank you for any and all help.

You may want to investigate breeds that can survive such a hot climate.

I agree with Diva above...research those birds that handle the heat, typically the Mediterranean class as they are typically smaller, less densely feathered, and have large combs in aid in heat dissipation. Hello there, and welcome to Backyard Chickens! I agree researching breeds that will do will is most likely a must for your climate. Breeds like Leghorns, Penandesna, (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong) and other such breeds will fare well in 120° climates. Good luck, and enjoy BYC!
