That's some good questions to start with. Probably the best. How many
hens per box? You know, I just couldn't lay an egg in a crowd.

I had a hen that for whatever reason insisted on laying her eggs in my
dogs doghouse. Chicken just wouldn't learn different.

I only have 3 hens all bantams. I have 2 boxes, but they all want to use one that another is current occupied. I've had them about two months and this is a first. I'm not sure how to tell how old they are.

I bought them from an old neighbor. They lay every other day and they have been laying since before I got them. He gave me some of his better layers. It's the second time in two weeks that she has done it. I didn't know if she just got comfortable or worse.
