Hello everyone, my name is Sarah, but you can call me birb mom.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am completely new to chickens. I picked up my first chicks just a few days ago, but I've always adored chickens and birds in general.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

6 little females.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Ameraucana! I'm loving the breed so far.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I found out about the site through my efforts to learn as much as much as I could about chickens.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I really enjoy writing and drawing, particularly digital art. I use a Wacom Intuos Draw. As far as writing goes, I prefer fantasy and sci-fi. I've been writing ever since I was able to and creating stories even before then.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am only 17 years old, so I still live with my parents and my twin sister. We live in a quaint house in the redwood forests of Northern California. I have two big dogs(bears), that I love to pieces and have owned for about 7 or 8 years now. There is a goldendoodle named Winnie who ironically has black fur, and a scruffy white labradoodle named Rocket. As for occupation, I am unemployed now but will be employed soon at my local icecream parlor. I am a Junior in high school.

I love my chicks dearly and have barely spent a waking hour away from them. I am happy to meet new people who also love chickens and to see all your beautiful feathery children!
