I am new to keeping chickens, been doing a lot of research and keep ending up on this forum so I decided to join up. thank you for having me. Being new I went big and have 30 chickens they are all small and are staying in a small coop for now. they run around in the yard area I have sectioned off with an electric fence during the day and roost in the small coop at night. I am in the process of building a coop and run. I live in Indiana so it gets cold some winters and any advice for me and my chicks would be appreciated. they seem to love life, so far so good.

Welcome fellow hoosier! I wouldn't worry about them getting too cold in the winter. My experience has been that they are far more cold tolerant than heat tolerant. Check out the coop and run thread for ideas and advice.tha

Nice and thank you. looks like we may be in the same area of Indiana. I was worried about the winters. I noticed the chicks hiding in the shade from the sun so now I have a nice shaded spot to build the coop/run for them.
