I'm excited to be here and take advantage of all the information and ideas you all share.
I have a flock of 48 young chicks, mostly Barnevender, Silver Lace Wyandotte, Barred Rock and some Golden Comets. We also have 10 Rouen ducklings. I had chickens and ducks as a kid, but this is my first time getting back in as an adult and sharing this experience with my son.
We also show dogs for a hobby and have Rottweilers and Smooth Coated Brussels Griffons. I show these with my 9 year old son. We love traveling to show the dogs, he has shown since he was 6.
I love reading all the forums and threads you all post!

G’Day from down under SapphireFarms :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or dogs, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

YES!! another dog person. I used to show & breed cockers till the 1980's - I am relic.
You cannot imagine how many dog folks:handlers, breeders, judges , trainers, field trialers, agility, search and rescue, groomers and more are BYC members.

Least I forget, Welcome to Backyard chickens :frow
