    Hi! I'm Patti.
I have been raising chickens for 3 years. I have 4 lovely ladies. I had 12 but my neighbor's bird dog decided to make sport with my flock. :(
I'm looking for advice and help with problem solving. Would love to add to my flock this Spring!

Do you have a safe coop and run for the birds to be in? Or do you free range? If you free range either the bird dog or other predators will be out to get them. A top of some sort, on the run will also keep hawks and climbers out.

Please document the carnage and especially the dog in the act. You can present photos to your neighbor for restitution and proof to Animal control.

    Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)
