Hello everyone

So, head on over to TSC or Rural king and grab a bag of 20% flock feeder granular chicken feed. They need good protein and overall nutrition to lay eggs. Also oyster shell, and grit to help digest. You probably already know this, if you've been around this site very long, but the sooner the better if you mean to give them a home. Even if they were someone else's birds they chose you! How lucky can you get! Good luck with your new hobby/addiction!

Thank you for the advice. I was reading thru a few of the reviews here on the site about food. I just thought to wait until the coop is built to do that. They are not here constantly...seem to wander through the yard every afternoon. I have given them unshelled pumpkin seeds (they were not thrilled with that), gave them worms..they did like kicking around to dig them out of the dirt, and they absolutely Love dried meal worms. They also have a nice big bowl of clean water here now too.
