Hello! My name is Carla and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm excited to keep learning about how to keep my 4 lovely hens happy & healthy, and here is a bit about me!
My partner and I are absolute newbies to having chickens, we got them May 13, 4 gorgeous little Bovan Brown chicks!
My favorite aspects of raising the chickens is spending time with them, watching them and learning their habits, personalities, and how they interact with each other, me, and their surroundings. We are looking forward to September when they start to lay eggs!
I love gardening as well, so with gardening and my 4 chickies, I've spent way more time outdoors this summer then ever before!
I live with my partner and his 2 children, we all got to name a chick each, we have Joey & Chandler, Maggie, and Chickoletta! I am a teacher, so while I am super crazy busy for 10 months of the year, I have all summer to watch my chickies and make sure they are happy and healthy!
I heard about BYC from the many many google searches we did in preparations for getting chicks and learning as much as we could before we got them, while they were in the brooder, and now that they are actual 'backyard chickens'!
