I'm located in San Diego, but all the ads I see for fertile eggs always have like 12 eggs when I only really want half of that lol

Plan on only half of the eggs you set to hatch.

Also...do you have a plan on what to do with extra males that hatch?

Yep! That's why a half dozen is what I would want. Though I really wouldn't enjoy it, I could use any access quail as Raptor food. I do plan on getting a Red Tailed Hawk or American Kestrel sometime soon.
