My name is Kaitlyn and I have 6 very lovely hens. I used to work at a petting zoo with many chickens so I’m not new to their care, however before my current flock I had never owned my own. We got our girls when they were just chicks back in March of this year. I have 3 white leghorns and 3 Black sex linked. My girls are so smart and curious, they love treats (especially watermelon) and they come running at me when they see me outside or hear my voice. They know momma always has something tasty for them. As well as taking care of our girls my boyfriend and I live near the beach and enjoy taking our corgi, Todd for walks as well as hiking and camping. I found this website while searching some basic questions when we first got our girls like “how early should you introduce a dust bath” and “what’s a good treat for chicks” and I’ve been coming back for advice ever since. As we live in a very urban environment there aren’t many resources revolving around chicken care in my area so I decided to join this community as an extra resource of information.
