Hello everyone!

Hi and welcome to BYC! We're so glad you decided to join us! Thank you for sharing the photos! Baby goats are the cutest things! :love
500 chickens, wow! How many different breeds do you have? :)
Thank you! I am excited to be here. I love spring time for all the babies 😊 right now we have probably 5-6 different breeds. But we are trying to transition to the 4 that we have found do best in our area. I love having a variety of colors 😍

Hi guys, I am a new member and thought I would introduce myself. I have read threads on Backyard Chickens for several years, but just bit the bullet tonight ! We have a chicken egg farm in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We have had chickens for 7 years and recently expanded our farm this last year. We currently have 500 laying hens and sell to several local grocery stores. In addition to our flock of chickens we have 6 Nigerian dwarf Pygmy goats (soon to get 3 more nigerian dwarfs). We have 2 horses, 2 mini donkeys, 30 sheep, 3 cows, 3 barn cats, and a house dog. Oh and a parakeet 😊 I am very excited to continue to learn more about chickens. My current project is going to be starting to ferment and sprout grain for the chickens so if anyone has experience in that I would love tips!! (HAD to include pic of one of the adorable baby goats we had this spring!) View attachment 2137381View attachment 2137383View attachment 2137384
