New member here from NW Florida! I got my first chickens almost exactly one year ago. I currently have four chickens. One gold silkie hen, one black cochin hen, one black australorp hen, and one black australorp rooster. I purposely left one of my cochin eggs in the coop for my broody cochin to hatch. The silkie and cochin both did a great job staying on the egg. Yesterday afternoon I noticed the egg had began to hatch and as of this morning I have a cute little black/greyish colored chick. What type of chicken would you call an australorp and cochin mix? Is it okay to leave the chick in the coop with the momma and other chickens? I have placed chick feed and water out, but momma hasn't let the baby out from under her wing yet.
