I am so glad you are here now.Thank you,
No I haven’t ordered any chicks yet. I found a poultry farm near me and we are going there this weekend weather permitting.
I’ll try to post the link for the coop. I hope this is copied right: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07ZHZLD86?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
That’s some good advice. The place we were going to go has their chicks listed as unsexed. I had to look it up to find out what that meant.I am so glad you are here now.
Hold off on chicks/chickens. Also...beware of anyone who lets you in their yard to purchase birds. Chicken diseases are nasty and you do not want to start off with one in your flock.
Ordering day old chicks from a major hatchery woudl be something to think about.
You'd have less of a chance (almost none) of bringing home a disease and you have less of a chance of bringing home unwanted males.
I was looking at some pictures yesterday of someone who made a coop out of a shedWelcome to Backyard Chickens, this is a great place to hang out.
Worst case buy a shed you can make that a coop have a few more birds.
Here's another one...I was looking at some pictures yesterday of someone who made a coop out of a shed
