Greetings from Weeki Wachee, Florida! I am new to raising backyard chooks. We have a small flock of 7 raised from chicks (started with 6, lost one to the neighbors dog, got 2 more-I’m told this is “chicken math” ). I never realized how much I needed to have chickens until I got them. Still waiting on eggs, but the therapeutic benefits are amazing lol. Looking forward to reading tips and stories! You have a lot going there. Some of the most beautiful springs around you and chickens too. Be sure and build strong runs and coops so predators including dogs can't mess with your little friends now.

Welcome. To keep your babies safe, use 1/2 inch hardware cloth around and on top of your coop and run, and make a hardware cloth apron.
