Hi everyone, I am new to backyard chickens, and chicken raising for that matter, and thought I would introduce myself.
We currently have 4 chicks, approximately 3 weeks old. As yet that are unsexed. We are not allowed to keep roosters, so sweating it out to see if they are all girls.. We adopted the chicks from a kindergarten hatching incursion.
Two of the chicks are black and two yellow. I am assuming the yellow ones are Isa browns, and have no idea what the black ones will be.
I am a country girl at heart, and I think deep down I am trying to return to my country roots. I "try" growing my own veggies with varying degrees of success (more failures than success but hey I am slowing getting there!!!). I love the idea of self sustainability, and hope to get there eventually.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and sharing information and experiences with you all
Janine
