I found backyardchickens.com when I was looking for info on how to raise these 3 ducks I adopted. I live on just over 2 acres with my husband, son 5, daughter 1, dog, several cats, 3 ducks, 2 turkeys, 11 chickens, rabbit, 5 red eared sliders and i may be adopting a few more chickens and some more red eared sliders. the property belonged to my grandfather and has been in my family for over sixty years. My mother, one of my brothers, my sister, and one of my cousins also live on the property. (There are six units.) We have 2 gardens that the local food bank helped us start. The property was a farm when my mom was a girl and it had a huge garden when i was a child. We are trying to restore it to its former glory. We are hoping for some ducklings soon. Two of my ducks are female and the other is a male. The ladies have been sitting on nests for about 3 weeks. We cant wait! Love all the info, cant wait to check out it's sister sites!
