Let me introduce my self. I am new to the barnyard scene, so I decided to get 7 chickens, then 3 ducks. When the peacocks were ready I got 2 of them and 6 quail. All of them babies. Unfortunately I have lost 1chicken and 1quail to unknown causes. Everyone is in temporary housing right now, until we rebuild our main coop. I have a lot to learn but am excited for my new adventure.

Hi 1muttsfan, I have a niece and 2 nephews that live in Northern Michigan on the Indian Reservation. I'm in Florida now, but I'm originally from Illinois. Still miss the seasons, even after 30 years.

Sometimes Illinois seems to have just two seasons winter and summer and both can be extreme

I do remember my last winter with -60 wind chill, but the heat is only brutal in August. In comparison to 3-4 months of 90s here that's not so bad. The season I miss most is fall, especially the Maple trees. Usually see fall leaves around Christmas here, maybe.
