Thank you all for the great advice! UPDATE...... I live in eastern NC, sorry bout that, I guess that would help. Today I went and got my rooster, a New Hampshire red...... and what a beautiful rooster he is. I must have chatted with the guy selling me the rooster for about an hour or so. great guy by the way. so after our lengthy conversation about chickens and hunting and amongst other things he says " I'll tell you what, I enjoyed our conversation so much I'll sell you two of my Golden Buff hens for an additional 10 bucks" so now I have the (KING) rooster and 2 beautiful lady hens to share a brand new coop.
