I'm Ashley I am 24 and I just got my kids six chicks and five ducklings. It has been about four or five years since I have had chickens so I don't remember much. I just got them from tractor supply yesterday and am unsure how old they are and have a few concerns. First being that I have never been hands on with raising chicks or ducklings....we just always let the hen worry about it as we raised chickens as livestock and not pets which we are doing now.

Welcome to BYC!

You might want to stop by our learning center here on BYC for lots of good reads on all the aspects of raising your new babies, building your coop, feeding adult birds and keeping them happy, healthy and safe...

Also, if you have any questions about your ducklings, you can post questions in our Duck section here on BYC as well..

I just hope I am not putting these animals in a bad way. I want my four year old to grow up as I did cleaning stalls and fetching eggs(I believe it builds positive character) but I also want to make sure they are well taken care of. Also adorable ducklings!!! I am very excited to restart this journey.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! You've gotten some good advice above! Good luck with your chicks and ducklings!
