I'm new to BYC I have a few chickens 1 black s. link,2 Danish brown,2 silkies,1 thailand and one tiny ameraucana I recently noticed the thai an black link chicks started losing feathers not sure if this is normal? I don't see any irritation on skin or evidence of mite.

Welcome to BYC!

They all look normal and in great shape! They are molting in their new feathers. Chicks go thru a couple molts until they get their adult feathers. Then they will molt once a year in the late fall, early winter each year.

"she so pretty with her new feathers" thank goodness I posted four days after my post all my chickens lost feather but no panic thanks to b.y.c. I'm a little smarter than before
