Hi there! Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello — as a first-time chicken owner, this forum kept popping up on Google when I'd search for my many random questions, so I figured I might as well join in on the fun 
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm pretty new to having chickens on my own, but my grandmother had them growing up so I'm somewhat familiar.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 2 full-grown hens that were gifted to me, and I'm ordering 4 chicks from Meyer this week.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I believe the 2 grown ones are Golden Buffs, and I'm doing the assorted brown layers package for the chicks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're so precious! I recently fostered 8 for a time and had so much fun caring for them that I knew I'd have to get my own when they left.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, writing, rock climbing, and gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a Tennessee native, and I recently moved to Nashville after spending a few years in California. I have a cat and a dog, as well as many succulents. I work in marketing/social media management on a freelance basis.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google! Everyone is so helpful answering questions here and I just wanted to join in on the fun — and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions myself as I embark on this journey!
