Hello! I may as well introduce myself, as this website may become one of my bookmarked pages.
My 'name' is kittykitty30 and I am currently raising 52 chickens with the support of my friends and family. I have many varieties, including Sebrights, Buff Orpingtons, Wyandottes, Cochins, Brahmas, Rhode Islands, and Plymouth Rocks. We raised chickens twice before, but we did not read any magazines or join any communities to help us with our hobby. All of our previous birds perished from ailments that could have been easily cured had we known what to do. Fortunately, this time we plan on doing things correct and consulting the community for help when it is needed.
My plan is to breed for show and for conservancy, which I will need help with! I also plan on keeping a flock specifically for egg production.
I may as well state some basics about myself: I am a female between the ages of 10 and 20. I have always fancied the idea of keeping chickens and I have always wanted to breed them. In my free time (what little I have!) I enjoy drawing digital artwork, roleplaying on several different websites, hiking, camping, fishing, caring for my animals, studying genetics, watching television, taking strolls throughout the neighborhood, attending the county fair, and other activities that I consider fun. I try to be as friendly as possible, so don't worry; I won't bite! I have two dogs, a plethora of cats, two geckos, 52 chickens (as stated previously), and a cage filled to the brim with mealworm habitat and the insects themselves.
I hope to learn more about raising chickens and I hope to find friends on this website!
~Kitty
