Hi I am anxiously awaiting my second batch of chickens. To answer into questions here I go....
I ordered and bought my first chickens in 2016. My sweet pet girls were taken from me just a month ago, two pit bulls broke into their coop though the yard fence. Very sad :-( I ordered my new babies the day of. They will get here Feb. 20th, new fencing reinforced and electric wire and new dog to protect my girls this time.
I am expecting 10 chicks, 2 of each, Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Golden Comet, Barred Plymouth Rock, and Light Brahma.
To my suprise raising chickens was very special. They loved me and were very tame. I handled them a lot when they were growing up. I also enjoy machine embroidery, farming, gardening. My husband and I live with our 18 year old daughter soon to go to college. I am a retired RN. I found BYC, by internet searching to solve problems and get great tips for my girls. I enjoy the support and tips and advice your site provides.
