(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens for about 4.5 years. My Dad's neighbor started me out with two hens, one with three chicks and one with seven. I ended up with only 2 female chicks out of all of them! Chickens are free-range with a supplement of organic feed. We have lost several over the years to predators.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently I have one rooster (my first and only hatched chick) and six hens.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Rooster is a silkie and game hen mix. I have two game hens, a black sexlink, a black sexlink mix, a Dominique and a Buff Orpington (last two are 8 mos)

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Various places, Facebook, Google searches, Pinterest

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Organic gardening, miniatures, stamping, crochet, wood working, various crafts

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have one husband and five furkids - four kitties and a Husky-Shepard mix. I work in IT in a hospital but want to be a full-time farmer and crafter!
