Hello flight friends...newbie

I first want to send my deepest sympathy to Santa,Fe Texas. I am a new mom of quadruplet chicks and have had them since the “cracking of the dome”. They are now a month old and I must say I’m in love. I never thought a chicken is full of such affection. Snuggle,fly to me,cluck for my attention it’s a crazy oddity. I do have a question. Is it possible to spoil a chicken that will leave them a emotional basket cases when they go outside to the big girls coop. I think I would be embarrassed if my friends and family read this. I’m not sure if there is a support groups for emotionally stunted chickens from crazy chicken mamas but I don’t want mine a member. So I could use some insight on who may have experience in raising “pet”chickens. Oh and don’t get me started on the poop factor. Do they ever digest ! I could be rich if it was pennies.

Welcome to BYC! The chicks imprint on you, you're the mom. This is natural, as it will be natural for them to become teenagers and begin to distance themselves from you. They'll do fine in the big girls coop, maybe you'll be the basket case! They will grow up to be happy hens don't worry.
