! It's great to have you in our community! You sound excited to be in the chicken game! As a newcomer to chickens you might like to spend some time reading in the Learning Center here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
It is loaded with informative articles that will put you on the fast track to learning just about everything you will ever need to know with your flock!
Also, if you'd like to chat with some in-state chicken keepers, locate the KY thread in this link and say howdy: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you
Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC!

Welcome to BYC - so glad you've joined us! What an exciting time, starting out with your first chicks -- what breed(s) have you chosen to start this adventure with?

Welcome!

Best wishes to you and your little ones.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

I got 4 Bard Rock and 4 Road Island Red. We bought them from the feed store here and when we got home I noticed 2 were smaller than all the others and didn't act as active and they both died on me yesterday.

So far so good with the rest. From what I understand it's normal to loose some when u buy from a feed store. Praying the rest make it but they look happy and healthy as of now.
