My name is Karrie and my family and I live in southern Vermont. This is our first time raising chicks. It's been a very exciting yet nerve racking process so far. Our chickens spend their time in a large dog kennel in our home until they move to the new coop for days this weekend

We absolutely love these birds already and cannot wait for all the great learning experiences this will bring to our 4 year old. Thank you for this great group.

Hi Karrie and
welcome-byc.gif
- great to have you onboard.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre (even if you have lots of experience)
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

All the best

Hi :welcome Karrie

Glad you could join us here! Raising chicks sure can be nerve wracking but it's also I lots of fun and gives you a real sense of achievement when they have grown up. Chickens sure are great way to get the kids involved with looking after and caring for another living creature. I'm more than sure this will be a great experience for your four year old.

Wishing you the very best of luck for the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
