Hello from a soon-to-be chicken mom

Hello,

I've decided to look into keeping a couple of chickens in my garden. I've got the Omlet Eglu Classic and 2m run and have made an appointment at the breeders to have a chat with her about it all before taking the plunge. Feeling a little bit apprehensive I also have 2 kids, a husband and a dog

I'm hoping to learn as much as possible beforehand. Would love some advice from others.

and welcome to chicken addiction! When I first got in to chickens I was so sure I would only want 3-4 chickens, then it was 4-6, then it was 6-10...you get the picture, lol. My first piece of advice is usually to plan on keeping more than you "think" you want. They're actually quite easy to care for and when you have questions this is the perfect place to ask them!

Depending on when you let the girls into the garden, you might need some tunnels to keep the plants safe. It can be as simple as fencing bent over, and staked down.
