Just wanted to get on board here and say hi.

I recently had a long held dream realized when a dear friend took it on himself to built me a coop in my urban backyard, and helped me bring five Ameraucana hens home to live in it. I am thrilled for myself, my kids, and our friends and neighbors, who are intrigued and mystified all at the same time. And boy, are they lining up for our eggs! I feel like I'm handing out solid gold.

I love being part of the urban chicken movement, love that my kitchen scraps become delicious eggs and manure for my garden, and most of all, love my five pretty girls who are showing us more of their personalities every day.

I look forward to making friends and gaining wisdom from here, and hope that one day I know enough to do the same for others.
