hello from Alaska!

Hello from Alaska's Kenai Peninsula.
I am not new to chickens but haven't raised any in almost 20 years.
Last time I had chickens I was living in Minnesota.
I don't know how much posting I'll do here but certainly a lot of reading and researching.
I currently have 8 hens on order, 3 Rhode Island Reds,3 Barred rocks and 2 Auracanas.
I have a friend coming over this week to help me construct the coop and run.
I live on just over an acre outside of city limits.
My wife and her best friend have been bugging me about chickens since we bought this house 3 years ago and now it's coming to fruition.
Thank you for such a good site for information on raising my chickens.
