Soooo exciting! Congrats! I know the feeling. We felt trapped in condo life and finally saved enough to get a little house instead. You will be sooooo happy with your move. I also live in a cold climate and wish I had started with ducks instead of chickens. I had thought since we don't have a pond that we couldn't raise ducks, but now from what I read, it sounds they do better in cold than chickens and continue to produce better over winter (which we have a lot of), so I think it will be a good start for you. Have fun!

Lots of people with chickens here, too! But yes, that's a big motivation for me. It also rains a ton, so the duckies will have plenty of water. :)
