Hello from Alberta

I'm on my fifth Dobie - all rescues. I started on the breed in 1996! The best breed IMO! My current boy, as were all his predecessors, is the killer of woodchucks. He also managed to catch and kill a chipmunk by dumb luck and a gray squirrel with the help of his little rat terrier buddy.
He lunged at one of my EE while on leash. All my idiots are a big "no no" when it comes to the chickens. I envy you that you can let your boy out with the flock.
They can go the complete predatory sequence. A rat terrier buddy, that is SUPERIOR vermin control! My dobie now is the skunk terminator which is good for the flock but I have to buy a lot of skunk shampoo. :sick I just lost my female dobie and want to hold off with a replacement. I need more time with my male one on one. He was a rescue as well, is still young and rather rogue but improving all the time!

Nice intro and nice pictures!

Thanks for joining us :)

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!:welcomeWe are glad you joined the flock! BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry! There is always space for more members on the BYC roost!:highfive: You have a beautiful flock! Thank you for taking the time to share a few pics. Chickens generally tolerate winter better than the summer, just provide a well insulated coop that will conserve heat. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
