My name is Megan and my roommate Lee Anna and I are trying our hands at raising chickens for the first time. My dad has raised chickens for a few years now and he helped us get started. We built our coop by converting a 6x20 chain link dog run and an old wooden dog house. Right now we have 11 chicks that will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. 5 of them are black sex-links (Barred Rock/ Rhode Island Red) and 6 of them are red-sex links (Rhode Island Red/Rhode Island White).
