Hey, All!
I'm brand new here and am in the planning stages for my first flock! So here's my initial post:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I am new to chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None yet, but am planning to get maybe 4 chickens, 6 guineas, and 2 or 3 ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Still researching which ones will be good for my climate, their personality traits, etc.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I want them for natural pest control, garden help, and of course eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, reading, and binge-watching shows with the hubby.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I currently have 1 dog and 4 cats, 4 grown children, 2 grandsons, and a hubby. The hubby and I are getting ready to build a home on our 30 acre property, which is where the chickens come in.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC a week or so ago while researching chicken info and chicken coop builds, and I'm looking forward to being part of this community and learning from all of you.
