Hello from Arizona

I have been lurking for several weeks trying to gain as much info as possible and I am on overload right now.....

My husband had the idea of getting a few chickens for eggs and I had no problem with it until after we got them..... now I am hooked!!

We started out with 2 Americanas? (or what I am finding out are EE's). I talked my husband into a third (a Barred Rock) the next day (when I took our grandson to pick out three of his own since he loved ours so much). Now three or four weeks later I just convinced my husband we really needed two more since I didn't have a BO or SLW to watch grow up. Too bad we don't have more room!!!

We have picked up a Kid's Playhouse to turn into a Coop and just finished building and painting the elevated base for it today. The dogs will have to loose half of their run for the chickens but I don't think they will mind as they are inside 95% of the time. Still have lots of work to do but first three will not be ready to go out any time soon as they are only 5 wks old.

Thanks for the great website and all the helpful info for a newbie like me..... I am truly enjoying my new hobby.
