Just getting my coop ready to take the new chicks outside. It's already about 87 here daily. (Chicks are almost completely feathered)
Got schnookered buying a coop that said good for 4 chickens. And it's not! Now I have to get creative and make something to add to it. Those prefab coops are frustrating. Wish I new before.

Yes, unfortunately these manufacturers of these prefab coops will tell you that you can keep a certain amount of birds in there, when you can barely keep half of what they say. Many times they will say 6 chickens and they are talking about tiny bantams. So I am so sorry you got roped into a tiny coop! I guess today's project is to add an addition to your coop. Have you checked out our coops pages yet? Maybe you can get some ideas as to adding on to your coop...

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Ya, those prefabs really overestimate the number of chickens you want to keep in them. Hello from Oregon & welcome to BYC. Those prefab coops are cute but not big enough for what they say. Plus there is not propper ventilation in most of them either. check out the coops on here - you will get some great ideas on how to fix yours up. Best of luck
