I love the site and visit frequently. It seems like this site pops up each time I want to search something chicken.
I'm originally from southeast Texas. I moved to north central Arkansas in April 2017. My husband and I moved to "retire" HAHA! We enjoy gardening, raising animals, baking, and generally homesteading. We have 28 acres with a spring fed pond, fruit trees, and many wild edibles which the deer love. Currently we have 4 ducks and about 8 baby ducks. It's hard to count them when momma duck is so protective. We've had chickens before (a large flock of 6) and my father raised chickens when I was little. I just love to watch them all day long and want to share my strange obsession with people who understand the allure of the chicken.
We are looking for chicken house plans and want something we can keep chicken and guinea in together. We have lots of raccoon and some fox (no telling what else) so we need something safe. They will free range in the day and be locked in at night. I'd like to build before the end of the year, hopefully next month. I plan on starting out with about 15/each. I have ALOT to learn and know you guys can help. That is why I'm here.
We are Christians and proud of it. We don't like to talk politics, debate the latest passion, and watch very little TV due to all the negative garbage. We moved to the country to get away from all the noise in the world, or as much as possible and are always looking to improve who we are. Change begins from within.
I don't have reliable internet and even when it is reliable I don't spend much time online so if we talk it might take me a while to respond. It's not that I don't love you, I'm just working on being well rounded and not chicken obsessed.
