I'm sorry, I usually put N.W. Arkansas in my signature area, which seems to be missing here. I am in the top corner, and can go to Missouri, Oklahoma or Kansas fairly easily.

I already see lots of interesting topics to read here, so, it will be awhile before I run out of something to read about!

Interesting that BYC came up when I googled goat forums... this is so much more than a chicken forum! Although I do like my chickens.

Oh, you just have to hear my chicken story.

I have a gazebo, that has turned into a storage shed, but the chickens keep making it home.
One day, I went to milk, and this crazy hen is screaming and jumping in the gazebo, I thought... crazy chicken.
I forgot to turn the water on, so had to pass gazebo again, and chicken went bonkers again, clucking and yet fussing... odd.
I ignored her, other than looking to see that she looked fine.
When I came back by, she did it again... okay, there must be something that I can't see, maybe she is caught on a cord or something, and can't leave that area?
I walked in and she hopped down and ran up to me... then I saw it... she had hatched one chick in a milk crate, and the chick could not get out.
She had went through all that to ask me to free her new chick. I got the chick, expecting to be pecked for my efforts, but she simply called the baby and marched out all happy again. Just try to tell me, that chickens are totally dumb, they are only dumb when they want to be!
