Hello,
I haven't had chickens since I was a child, but now we're on acerage I have ordered a dozen Pekin Bantam (Cochin for US) eggs of mixed colours so I can't wait to see what I end up with. Would love to know more about colour genetics as chickens seem a lot more complicated than the horses I'm used to- lots more different genes and modifiers. Also hoping to have a couple of Barnevalder ladies for egg production and maybe a frizzle for cuteness factor. I'm a fan of fat fluffy chickens, though all breeds are interesting. Not sure if i'll breed more myself, depends on how easy I find it to get rid of the boys in my clutch of eggs- I have a tendency to get attached.
