Hello from Australia!

Thanks everyone! You're all so friendly and I really appreciate it!

Roosters aren't allowed in my area, so if some of my babes turn out to be boys - I've found a chicken farm nearby that will take them and sell me chicks the same age as my girls.

You live in Australia...how cool is that?!? I have always wanted to visit there. Congrats on your chickens!! I have always wanted to have backyard chickens also and I finally did it a month ago!! Your chicks sound like they are very cute!! My daughter would love to have chicks!! However, my cats would not be as kind to them as my daughter.

Anywho...welcome to the forum and I look forward to talking to you again!!

Hello, a warm welcome from, maybe, very close by

I have three red sex-links, and they are enduring the winter quite nicely: it's the summer we have to watch out for, they get so hot and bothered with their wings propped up

Good luck with your chicks, they usually start laying in about four months or so, I've found. Winter/spring's a good time to get them so they'll be ready to lay by the time summer's here and eggs don't keep

See you around
