Hey all, long time reader, first time poster, thought I would finally join up.
First time with chickens, have had them for around 2-3 months now.
12 all up, bit of a mixed bunch but are Black Australorps, Isa browns, and Leghorns apparently.

Probably will not be contributing much as I know next to nothing, but the chickens seem happy at least.

Alright

Seems like you're off to a good start then. And don't worry, the knowledge will accumulate as you gain experience with your flock. Be sure to check out the Ozzy threads, you'll find loads of information specific to your location, for instance how to keep your chickens cool (apparently sunglasses and a cigarette aren't enough).

G'day, and welcome to BYC! You have as good a group of layers as one can get. Isa Browns are brown egg laying hybrid machines, Black Australorps are the best brown egg layers of the standard breeds, and Leghorns are the best white egg layers in the chicken world. You ought to get lots of egg from those girls. Good luck with your flock.

Glad you joined us!

G'day we have a large Aussie community on BYC, always room for more. If you want to see what they are up to go to "Australia, 6 states and one funny little Island." Welcome to the flock.
